On Friday, 26th August, 2016, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Data Care (U) Ltd and Ndejje University to kick-off a development and mentorship partnership between the two parties. The Ceremony took place at the Ndejje Graduate School in Mengo, Kampala. On behalf of Data Care, the MoU was witnessed by Mr. Patrick Kagenda, the Managing Director, Mr. Michael Kintu, the Research and Development Director as well as Ms. Ritah Mutesi, the Human Resource Manager. On behalf of Ndejje University, the witnesses were; Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo, the Vice Chancellor, Mr. Elijah Kiyingi, the University Secretary and Mr. Barnabas Sekabembe, the Academic Registrar.
This collaboration presents a unique opportunity to maximize the wealth of skills, knowledge and relationships of each entity in the furtherance of the computing discipline in the country. This agreement focuses on developing a platform that will provide opportunities and guidance to harness the power of ICT in development and growth.
A liaison position between Data Care and Ndejje University will also strengthen skills development and internships/mentorship, aid in identifying and developing initiatives and projects that have mutual interest to both parties and will benefit the science and computing body as a whole.
